**General After Sales Manager Vacancy

  • Automotive**
    Full time, initially a fixed term 36 month position (could lead to longer), Full Time

£45,000 annual salary plus 10% profit related bonus

Based in Morley, Leeds


A fantastic opportunity has arisen within a well-established Ford repair, MOT and service centre, close to the main motorway links in Leeds.


Established in 1987, our client is known for delivering customer excellence and is consistently rated in the top 5% of Ford service centres in the country.


They are looking for an experienced General After Sales Manager to oversee a growing team of technicians, drivers, workshop controllers, sales admin, valets and sales advisors.

About the role
Day to day management of the team is a key part of this role.

The main purpose is to ensure that the right team members are in place and have the tools and support to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction.


Other main duties include:

  • Responsibility for health and safety, ensuring that all vehicles are repaired to spec and to a safe and high standard.
  • Ensuring the operation itself is safe at all times and that business complies with relevant legislation and with Ford industry standards.
  • Managing, leading and motivating the team to deliver.
  • Maximising profitability and shareholder value, reducing cost where possible.

About you
Ideally, you will have a proven track record of working in a similar general management role (preferably within the automotive industry) and will be:

  • Systems orientated (knowledge of Pinewood DMS would be an advantage).
  • Used to attending management and leadership meetings and reporting on key metrics, budget control and legislative changes.
  • Friendly, professional and supportive in all interactions, happy to knowledge share, upskill the team and freely share your knowledge and experience.
  • Understand vehicles and have a sound technical knowledge.
  • Be selfmotivated, able to work under a healthy amount of pressure to deadlines and manage customer expectations.
  • Proactive in developing the team and recruiting good people to compliment or add to the existing skill set.

The essentials

  • Holidays are 22 per annum plus bank holidays.
  • Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 5.00pm and Friday 8.00am to 4.00pm with 30 minutes unpaid lunchbreak each day. The jobholder will be required to work occasional Saturday mornings to suit the needs of the business (including covering absenceand holidays).
  • This is initially a fixed term opportunity of 36 months. It would ideally suit a proven after sales general manager who is looking for an interim project to undertake, with a view to a potentially longer term opportunity within the business.
