We are recruiting an Admissions and Transitions Co-ordinator to join our expert team at Royal College Manchester in this newly created position.

Reporting directly to the Head of College, the Admissions and Transitions Coordinator (ATC) will be coordinating and helping execute the workflow and responsibilities associated with managing smooth and robustly coordinated admissions and transition processes.


As an active member of the team you can expect to

  • Supporting the College Leadership Team (CLT) to review referrals and coordinate assessments for potential admissions
  • Ensure that assessment documentation is completed and returned to the head of college upon completion for the final sign off.
  • Support the initial assessment of a potential young person/adult and ensure that their unique support needs are identified
  • Manage professional discussion and strategic planning with Social Workers and Local Authorities
  • Follow up with the students for 3 years following the wend of their placement to track their destinations.

What you need to do the role

  • GCSE English and Maths grade 4/C or above or level 2 equivalent in literacy and numeracy
  • Experience of working with children and young people with multisensory impairments and/or complex with learning difficulties and disabilities
  • Experience of working with and managing young adults who present with challenging behaviour
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, ability to write and maintain reports for external stakeholders and student notes and communicate effectively with parents/carers/other professionals
  • Knowledge of communication strategies for nonverbal learners
  • Previous office based administration experience?
  • Proficiency with MS Office
