ABOUT PEMBROKE MEDICAL GROUP


Pembroke Medical Group is a large GP practice with over 26,000 patients based in Paignton and Torquay in South Devon.

We have 2 sites, our main site is in Preston, Paignton and we have a smaller site in the harbourside in Torquay.

We are a training practice for not only medical students and trainee GP's but also student nurses and newly qualified pharmacists.

As a practice we are always looking to improve our patients experience and we are keen to embrace new digital solutions as part of this vision.


ROLE SUMMARY


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic individual who is keen to be at the forefront of IT innovation within Pembroke Medical Group.


You will be the main point of contact for digital and data within the practice and play a key role in delivering our communications across our website, social media and publishing.


You will have excellent all-round IT Skills with flexibility to support both the Clinical and Operational teams and also the QOF Clinical Data Support Lead as required.

You will be able to develop and run searches and audits along with keeping data and information up to date to assist with patient monitoring.

You will manage and maintain IT Services for all new and existing staff with the assistance of our IT assistant who will report into you.

Plus be involved in any other related duties as required to support with the smooth running of the communication and IT systems within the Practice.


As the Digital and Communications Lead for the Practice, you will be part of a small dedicated, hardworking team delivering support and technical advancement to clinicians and operational staff and directly affecting patient care.


Your role will include managing and maintaining IT for all new and existing staff members, processing tasks, developing searches and audits, and keeping information up to date on our clinical system.


RESPONSIBILITIES


The Postholder will work closely with the Partners, management team and staff to understand current service models and processes, identify challenges, agree priorities for improvement and then support delivery.


Provide feedback to the management team on progress of current initiatives, capacity for change, and issues so that plans can be adapted in response.


Build relationships and facilitate collaboration between practices, stakeholders and the wider system to support the delivery of care to patients.


Be a champion for best practice, using data and analysis to inform and enable innovation and transformation within the Practice.


Review of the Practice's digital maturity, and lead improvement including optimisation of new technologies to enhance patient access and improve efficiency.

Agree appropriate systems for delivery of services and ensure implementation through robust monitoring and quality reviews.


Ensure new digital projects include meaningful and valued engagement and involvement with users of its services, and that this is fully embedded in the development of services within the Practice.


Appraise digital options and technologies for general practice as they develop/emerge and encourage the practice in utilising their full functionality to enable improvement and operational efficiency.

Be the EMIS web and ARDENS expert and point of contact, including reporting, templates and training as required.

Work with the Partners and management team to develop a strong communication strategy


Ensure patient and public participation insight plays a fundamental role in communications through developing and managing appropriate patient and community groups.


The postholder will be primarily responsible for creating and delivering communications for projects across the organisation, managing newsletters, identifying content for and scheduling social media messages, and creating content for our website, including new approaches to digital publishing.


Work closely with teams across the organisation to commission, develop and edit content for our communications channels including the website, social media and newsletters.


PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Experience of successfully delivering change and improvement programmes ideally in a patient facing environment.
  • A proven track record of communicating and engaging with a wide range of staff and stakeholders; building excellent and trusted relationships.
  • Significant experience of driving change including translating strategic objectives into tangible plans for delivery.
  • Ability to use data and insight to both drive change and also to understand and adapt programmes of work
  • Ability to work and make decisions autonomously, and to identify and act on challenges to move delivery forward, potentially working to tight timescales
  • Ability to understand, interpret and present complex and/or sensitive information.
  • Ability to interpret qualitative and quantitative data from a range of sources and present it in a clear and concise way to stakeholders.
