Our markets have strong links with our local communities, food growing projects, small businesses, start-ups and festivals.


The Senior markets Service Officer role will provide supervisory support to the markets and street Trading Operations Manager for the successful and consistent delivery of the Markets and street trading function.


You will work as a senior part of the Markets and Street Trading Team undertaking enforcement and compliance inspections of all licensed trading activities across Hackney, You will supervise the deployment and customer service delivery of our Market service officers and foster close working relationships with all of our Traders as well as a diverse mixture of internal and external stakeholder partners with a view to increasing the number of licenced street traders in the borough supporting the economic growth of the local economy.


We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, a flexible approach to work, and the drive to deliver effective outcomes.

You will also be required to deal with complaints, investigations, which may require formal interviews under PACE and special project work.

Your goal is to ensure the effective compliance to licence conditions and enforcement of the boroughs street trading activities, so a background in management, Enforcement and/ or the Customer Service sector would be helpful
