As one of the largest manufacturers for the aerospace industry, we have 1500 employees globally across 13 locations. We are recruiting for 2 buyers for our procurement department in Basildon. The successful buyers will be involved in delivering the procurementfunction to meet our manufacturing operational objectives.

Hours:

  • 39 hours per week, Mon-Thur 8am5pm, Friday 7.30am pm.

The ideal Purchasing Buyers will be involved in:

  • Selecting products, finding suppliers, negotiating prices and obtaining quotations.
Purchasing materials and goods, raising enquiries, orders and producing reports.


Work alongside other departments to develop the MRP system, you may also be involved in storage, stock control, budgeting and sales analysis.

Liaising with other departments to develop an approved supplier list.

The successful Procurement Buyer will have the following attributes:

  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, preferably within the aerospace or automotive industry
Formal training in an engineering discipline to degree level

The ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings

Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and experience of working with MRP systems.

Ability to make decisions, work under pressure and ultimately be a good negotiator.
