As an Apprentice Software Tester you will work closely with both the Software Development and Product Support teams, making tangible contributions to the growing and ongoing success of the business.

ELMS Aviation is seeking a skilled Apprentice Software Tester to join our growing team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to start a career in the digital aviation industry and be a part of a dynamic and fast-paced environment.


As an Apprentice Software Tester, you will develop, maintain, document, and perform tests for new and existing software developed in house in conjunction with the Software Development team, to ensure the high standard of software quality is maintained.

This role will provide an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to gain hands-on experience in software testing.


Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:

  • Testing software systems and ensuring they meet customer requirements and expectations.
  • Providing technical support and assistance to customers with productrelated issues.
  • Developing and executing test plans, cases and scripts to validate software functionality.
  • Collaborating with software development team to diagnose and resolve software issues.
  • Documenting and reporting software bugs and other issues to development teams.
  • Working with the product manager to ensure that customer feedback is incorporated into product development.
  • Assisting in training and onboarding of new team members.
  • Support the customer onboarding journey, to include data migration/upload.

Qualifications:


  • 5 GCSEs grades A*C/94 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and ability to think critically.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • A customerfocused attitude and ability to work with customers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software.
  • A desire to learn and develop new skills.

  • Ensure that the software used within your business operates as intended.
  • Design and prepare test plans and conduct software testing as appropriate to ensure your software is fit for purpose.
  • Collect and interpret the results of testing and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Document and report test results.
  • Store, manage and share test data in a secure manner.
