The Nexus team are delivering an innovative digital programme, working in an agile environment to build the most convenient, helpful, and personalised customer experience in aviation.

This is a senior leadership position, reporting into the Director of Customer Platforms.

The role has accountability for delivering Nexus products, developing, and owning the overall strategy and execution to enable successful business and customer outcomes.

The Head of Product for Nexus is responsible for driving the performance of the Nexus digital products across revenue, brand, and customer metrics.

This role defines the roadmap and is responsible for delivering a best-in-class proposition within the Aviation industry.


What you'll do:


  • Develop the strategy, roadmap, and deliver the Nexus product vision, framing and coordinating new approaches
  • Ultimate point of ownership and decision making for Nexus Digital products
  • Communicate the vision to BA/IAG leadership
  • Successfully leading the team to maximise the impact of Nexus on business and customer outcomes, addressing implications across BA/IAG
  • Translate business priorities into functional products, helping product tribes prioritise work and maintain alignment across product look and feel
  • Ensure customer driven design considering user pain points and user test results, considering industry and market knowledge to deliver a wellpositioned product
  • Identifies budget requirements and manages defined budgets within governance processes
  • Management of prioritisation process for the product function within Nexus, ensuring that optimal flow of feasibility and delivery work is undertaken
  • Management of initiatives and their dependencies where they impact multiple products or product lines
  • Management of the risks and issues that impact the delivery of the product initiatives
  • Work closely with cross functional leadership in services and channel tribes to deliver a complete customer experience
  • Build backlog of product features i.e., write user stories and acceptance criteria together with the product squads

  • A strong, senior leader able to deal confidently with conflicting priorities, have high resilience and experience of delivering successful digital products
  • Strategically minded, able to identify and articulate new ideas clearly, always looking for ways to improve and find efficiencies
  • A strong influencer, able to engage both colleagues and service partners across all levels
  • Someone who has a broad understanding of all fields within digital product, with experience of working in an agile environment
  • Airline experience is desirable
  • An analytical approach, with a knowledge of commercial drivers and how to improve them
