Description
We are looking for an experienced Operations Supervisor to join our team in Wolverhampton - EMC. Your responsibilities will include effectively managing and supervising a team of operators ensuring the daily workload is achieved.


About the Role

  • Ensure all Team Leaders and Team Members understand the need for safe working practices and adhere to the safe working methods and countermeasures that syncreon implement, i.e. Risk Assessment, safety walks, Handling Aids, and Job rotation. Lead a zerotolerance mindset for deviation from safe working practices.
  • Ensure effective manpower planning is completed daily. Increase area versatility with robust training plans. Manage headcount balance between permanent and temporary labour in area. Deal with all individual performance issues within 24 hours of incident.
  • To investigate, document and take appropriate action for issues which fall under the Company's disciplinary and grievance policy and procedure this will include AIR investigations, performance, conduct and employee disputes.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Work and Quality processes to ensure a "Right First Time" product to the customer. Ensure that all customers required quality processes are operated in line with specification, i.e. QCOS. Drive a zerotolerance mindset for deviation from the use of quality processes to ensure customer expectations are exceeded.
  • Investigate Customer concerns. Identify and eliminate root cause using robust countermeasures such as PPS and GLS process. Sustain the corrective actions to eliminate repeat issues.
  • Implement engineering changes, production trials, model change, and pilot build in area of responsibility. Flawless execution every time, using the "Engineering Change" process.
  • To follow up with the maintenance team to ensure that team board CCAR's are closed out in a timely manner.
  • Responsible to ensure a comprehensive shift handover is completed and briefed out to the Operations Manager. To attend shift based meetings for example pre and postshift meetings, engineering change reviews, board reviews and timely closure of CCAR's.

Accountabilities

  • Management of the Company's Time & Attendance system
  • Eliminate external quality defects in area of responsibility. All defects internal/external to be followed up with appropriate action in line with company policies and procedures
  • Manage Absence targets for Planned and Unplanned absence in area.

Skills/Knowledge Required

  • BTEC HNC desirable and or related experience in a Unionized automotive environment
  • Previous experience in a JIT, sequencing environment is highly desirable
  • A production, materials and quality control background compliment skillset
