We are an established Main Contractor, based in Glasgow, Manchester, and Bristol, undertaking new build, refurbishment, facades, and insurance reinstatement work within the industrial, commercial, residential, and retail sectors throughout the United Kingdom.
We recently celebrated our 40th year anniversary of trading and have a proven track record in high-performance project delivery within the Construction Industry.
We have pipeline of work until Q3 2027 and in 2023 tendered over £300m of forthcoming projects.Additionally, we operate in sheltered markets, free from recessionary pressures, which protects the business' medium to long term growth strategy.
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Construction Tender Bid Writer to join our commercial team.The role will be full time on a permanent contract, within a fast paced environment and based at our Glasgow Head Office.
Reporting to, and working closely alongside, the Commercial Director, your duties will include for the following:Duties include
- Review of tender documentation.
- Delegation of individual tasks and activities to those within the estimating team who are best placed to prepare that part of the tender submission. Alternatively, prepare responses for any elements by oneself.
- Preparation and adherence to a tender programme. Monitor and act upon it, as appropriate.
- Gather the contributions from the respective estimating team members, collate it into the requested format, and arrange for submission of same, on the agreed platform and within a timely manner.
- Review any prequalification opportunities, prepare and submit appropriate responses.
- Maintain and arrange for renewal of third party company accreditations.
- Identify new business and accreditation opportunities.
- Prepare and submit tender submissions.
- Prepare, and participate in, tender presentations and interviews.
- Manage the tender bid process.
Requirements and skills
- Have attention to detail.
- Conversant in software packages such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point and the like.
- Construction experience, notably around tender processes.
- Positive, 'cando' attitude.
- Team player.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- High professional standards aligned with honesty and integrity.
- Ability to work to required timelines
