Overview / Responsibilities:

Site Material Controller - Redcar (Site Based)


Wood Process & Energy are seeking Site Material Controller services on our client site facility in the North East to be accountable for the successful delivery of all materials and logistics activities on a large scale EPCm project within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical industry for a duration of 6 months.

The appointed will have a demonstrable understanding of and exposure to, key material control and logistics concepts and principles whilst establishing, managing and maintaining the warehousing and materials control operation at the designated work site.


Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Management of the allocation, control, issue and marshalling of materials between different work locations and supplier.
  • Coordination of carriers in accordance with project requirements and schedule/vessel sailings.
  • Coach and monitor staff in operating processes/procedures and safe working practices.
  • Identification and management of materials shortages and surplus.
  • Coordinate the efficient operation of and continuously monitor the efficiency and performance of the warehouse operations.
  • Update the project, procurement status report (PSR) in line with project/client required on site dates.
  • Carry out new staff inductions and daily toolbox talks.
  • Production of shipping documents for all materials movements.
  • Management of Freight Forwarding and Import/Export and Customs control activities.
  • Timely updating of procurement system with goods receipts/manifests/shipping documentation.
  • Requisitioning and control of small plant and equipment/tooling/consumables.
  • Production of Materials Status reporting to project and client.
  • Coordinating material supply to and performance/delivery of fabrication items.
  • Ensuring maintenance and preservation of materials is undertaken for stored equipment.
  • Handling e.g. OS&D checks, bagging and tagging, preparation for shipping and marshalling/loading of shipments.
  • Control of Inventory in accordance with required inventory regime e.g. FIFO/Kanban and ensuring accuracy.
  • Monitoring of warehouse activity, cycle counts and stock checks.
  • Ensure all Supply Chain activities are carried out in accordance with the project execution plan/schedule.
  • Contracting strategy, within approved budgets and in line with project processes and procedures.

Expected:


  • Experience with Material Management Systems, ideally AMUSE
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role with experience of working on a large Petrochemical site
  • Competent in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of tools
  • Experience of GMP and UK wide EPC or EPCm experience
  • Proactively seek to improve processes, efficiencies in order to maximise added value
  • Knowledge and experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and independently to meet project / role objectives
  • Coordinate activities and be able to prioritise workload efficiently
