An exciting opportunity has arisen due to promotion to join the HealthRoster team as an E-Rostering assistant. This is a fantastic learning opportunity to learn more about roster reviews, rostering KPI's, full roster roll out.

The role will also include assisting the rest of the team to deliver teaching sessions, writing reports and general office duties.


Reporting to the E-Rostering manager this role will be responsible for the effective ongoing use of Health Roster and its associated elements: E-Rostering, Roster Perform, and Employee on Line and across the Trust.


The post holder will assist with full rosters being rolled out across the Trust instead of web timesheets, and assist the managers.

To support ongoing improvements in the E-Rostering service.

To provide administrative support to the E-Rostering team.

Assist with production of reports.


Help the manager work with unit managers using E-Rosters to regularly review system rules and personalised working patterns to ensure that they continue to be relevant.

Provide system advice and ad hoc training.


Be responsible for clerical and operational duties that ensure the orderly flow of information between all stakeholders, this includes diary management, document preparation and circulation.

To identify any issues, solving problems where appropriate and escalating to the relevant party where appropriate.

Communication & Relationship Skills

To communicate effectively with managers and staff at every level of the organisation.

Support the E-Rostering Manager in the preparation and distribution of KPI reports on a monthly basis.

Liaise with the HealthRoster Support Team to resolve system issues as required.

Analytical & Judgemental Skills

Analyses rosters to determine trends or highlight potential problems/issues.

Skills for investigating a variety of issues and proposing solutions; dealing with complex e-roster enquiries.

Planning & Organisation Skills

Planning and co-ordinating events in relation to the roster review meetings dealing with competing deadlines.


The post holder will need to work under pressure and within tight timescales to meet the requirement for delivery of reports.

Physical Skills & Mental Effort

Frequent need for intense concentration, analysis of data, writing reports, updating and preparing information.

Reviewing large amounts highly complex information which needs manipulating and translating in to report format.

Work pattern unpredictable, work interrupted to deal with queries.

Working Conditions

Requirement to use VDU equipment more or less continuously daily.

Responsibility for Policy/Service Development


To maintain a high level of data quality and accuracy, and to identify and resolve any data quality issues within the units.

To provide regular and ad hoc reports as required.

On occasions be responsible for any projects which are delegated by the E-Rostering Manager.

To highlight to the E-Rostering Project Manager and relevant manager any bad practice within E-Rostering.

Knowledge of a range of Trust policies and Management procedures, requiring ongoing on-the-job training and experience.

Implement policies and SOP's within the working area.

Responsibility for Human Resources

Provides support and training to all E-roster users.

Responsibility for Information Resources

Provide regular feedback on software and system to relevant people, making any suggestions for improvement.
