About This Role


Are you looking to kick start you career within the pharmaceutical industry? Would you like to utilise your degree and join our Graduate Intern program? We are seeking a graduate intern to work in our vibrant organization for a twelve-month period, starting early 2023.


The Graduate Intern Program will give you a unique opportunity to put your skills to the test and help you develop a broad set of hard and soft business competencies, by working with the team at Biogen.

The programme seeks to give talent who have recently graduated or will be graduating shortly, the chance to accelerate their careers with the intention of creating the next generation of leaders in Biogen.


What You'll Do


The program role is designed for recent undergraduates with a degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics and an interest in the life sciences.

You will be given the opportunity to work closely with members of the UK & Ireland Finance team, as well as the broader UK & Ireland affiliate team and the Regional Finance team based in Switzerland.

You will support the team in a variety of operational activities, including:


  • Prepare regular financial reporting and analysis in support of the month end process
  • Develop business partnering skills by assisting budget owners to manage their spending in line with their annual budgets
  • Assist with budget/forecast submissions into Hyperion for consolidation
  • Utilise digital tools to improve finance processes
  • Prepare ad hoc analysis as required by the business
  • Support with internal/external audit requests
  • Participate in ad hoc projects in support of business requirements
  • Proactively collaborate with other contributing departments
  • Participate as a member of the Graduate Intern Programme

You want to use your undergraduate qualifications to make an impact on the financial operations of a pharmaceutical business, in the areas of neurological and neurodegenerative diseases.

Your attention to detail is very high and you strive for continuous process improvement. You are curious, agile, adapting to changes as required in response to business needs. You help drive results by honoring your commitments on the goals you have been set. You are professional and reliable and are interested to work in an international environment. Qualifications:


Required Skills:


  • A recent undergraduate degree in Finance / Accounting / Economics with an interest in life sciences
  • Strong academic achievements
  • Proficient computer skills with the Microsoft suite of products, primarily Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Knowledge of PowerBI is desirable but not essential.
  • Advanced analytical skills with good attention to detail
  • A good team member
