Description

Due to business growth, we are currently recruiting for a Fabricator to work Monday-Friday for a leading engineering company which specialises in heat exchangers based in East Boldon.

Early Friday finish on offer

This Fabricator role is a permanent position working Monday - Thursday 7.30am-4.15pm and Friday 7.30am-12.30pm (38 hours per week). A salary up to £35,500 per annum is on offer dependent on experience.

As Fabricator you will work within a team 3 Fabricators and Welders in the workshop and will report into the Production Manager and Engineering Manager with the following responsibilities:
Reading engineering drawings to determine fabrication needs
Setting and operating machinery such as presses, drills and welding machines
Cut, shape and assemble metal components using various techniques such a grinding and drilling
MIG, TIG and FCAW welding
Conduct quality checks during the fabrication process and making amendments if needed
Perform maintenance, repairs, and modifications on existing heat exchangers
Track inventory or raw materials and communicate any shortages or discrepancies
Train and mentor Junior Fabricators
We are really keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and experience:
A time served Fabricator or possess NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication and Welding
Experience of both MID and TIG Welding
Ability to read and work to engineering drawings
Experience operating fabrication machinery such a presses, saws and drills
Heat exchanger experience (desirable)
