Salary G6 £25,878 - £30,151 per annum
This is a permanent, full time position.

Walsall Council are recruiting for an Emotional Literacy Support Officer who will be responsible for providing appropriate support and guidance for home educated children who are experiencing difficulties with emotional literacy or other aspects of home life.

The role will involve supporting the core statutory functions of the Elective home education service by developing and directly delivering programmes to support the needs of home educated children who are experiencing difficulties with emotional wellbeing.

We are looking to recruit a suitably qualified officer who has substantial experience of supporting children with a range of complex needs.

The successful applicant will create, develop and produce resources for use with intervention programmes as appropriate.

They will also liaise with schools and home educating parents to ensure children's needs are identified and that appropriate educational provision continues in a timely and effective manner.

This will include joint working with Children's services colleagues to prevent children missing education.

The successful applicant will also need to demonstrate that they are highly organised and self-motivated. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

The post holder will be required to communicate verbally with customers and provide advice and/or information in accurate spoken English.
