What you will do:
Project Team Management

  • To lead cross functional project teams, including vendors, through each phase of the projects
  • To manage and influence to ensure all activity is completed and the projects remain on track. Liaising, agreeing, involving and communicating all aspects of the project achieved via meetings and documentation to stakeholders.
Communication and Reporting

  • To ensure all project activity is clear and visible to all stakeholders by facilitating meetings and updating associated project documentation.
  • Ensuring risks are appropriately escalated and documentation to provide updates are clear and concise.
Define and Monitor Project Timings & Budget Management

  • Create high level and detailed project time plans and associated Budget, with input from all areas of the project teams and third party vendors.
  • Continually update the project timings ensuring all activity is up to date and budget is aligned.
Risk and Issues

  • Risk: Proactively understand, manage and communicate risk throughout the project lifecycle to avoid issues and escalate via the appropriate senior channels when required with recommendations for direction.
  • Issues: To rapidly engage all stakeholders to review the situation, make recommendations, own all communication on progress to the stakeholders and ensure everyone is aware of the situation and solution.
Project Initiation & Scoping

  • Support the Programme Manager to clarify and define project scope and all activities at the start of each project and manage any changes to the scope throughout the project through change control processes.
Project Governance

  • Ensuring adherence to the agreed development process and governance using M&I PMF. Suggesting, implementing and promoting improvements to the process.
  • Achieve cost, time and quality of a project. Highlighting and challenging when off track.
  • Leading and facilitating Project Reviews post launch to ensure success is celebrated and corrective actions are put in place to address any issues.

Requirements:

Essential

  • Project Management certification
  • PRINCE 2 Practitioner, APM PMQ or equivalent
  • Highly Experienced in Project Management, at least 23 years experience in NPD
  • Experience of managing multiple projects in a fast paced business
  • Programme Budget management
  • Experience of working with different job levels within a business
  • Previous experience in managing stakeholders
  • Aptitude for problem solving and solution based thinking
  • Open to new ways of working, understand the needs of the business and project management strategy
  • Proven experience in formal presenting to an audience
  • Willingness to travel to liaise with potential collaborators and frontline colleagues
  • Google GSuite, MS Office inc. Project. Project management tools
  • Excellent English written and verbal and communication
  • Full current driving licence
Desirable

  • Scientific or Technical background, Chemistry, Life Sciences.
  • Ability to read and understand scientific documents and academic papers, and experience designing and conducting scientific studies
