We are currently looking for motivated and hard-working team members to join our expanding Ground Handling Team.


Please note that this position is a Fixed Term Contract which will end on the 31 October 2023, to support the Summer period.
Hours - Shift patterns including early mornings, afternoons and weekend shifts.


The Role


To provide all necessary help and support to passengers as required by our customer airlines which may include check in, baggage processing, reservations and ticketing, boarding of flights, air-bridge operation, greeting arriving passengers, handling of VIPs, provide special passenger assistance, handle customer complaints and other duties as assigned.

The Arrivals Agent role is varied and challenging, day to day you'll be responsible for:

  • Assisting passengers as needed through arrival and check in processes including support for passengers with special requirements such as unaccompanied minors (UM), VIP passengers and passengers needing wheelchair assistance
  • Directing passengers through Customs, Immigration, and quarantine as required
  • Making public address announcements as required
  • Assisting colleagues in other areas of the airport to ensure that wheelchairs, strollers and bags etc remain with the passengers upon arrival
  • Comply with all UK/Ireland/EU legislation as well as airport authority and carrier security requirements
  • Comply with BIA Handling Ltd Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
  • Maintain the highest standards of safety and security always
  • Aircraft Cleaning
  • Other duties as assigned
No previous experience is required as we pride ourselves in offering full training which includes classroom and on-the job training; however, you do need to have:

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to speak and understand the English language (an ability to speak additional language would be desirable)
  • A passion for excellent customer service
  • An ability to deal with difficult and challenging situations
  • An ability to learn and use airline specific computer systems
  • Your own transport to enable you to travel to the Airport at times when public transport is not available (this is very limited)
  • Flexibility regarding shift patterns as these vary according to the demands of the Airlines

Starting rate of pay is £9.71 per hour, £15, pro rata for a 30 hour week.


All applicants must have the right to work in the UK, undertake a Criminal Record check and provide 5 years of checkable referencing history.

  • 10 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Christchurch BH23 6SE: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
