Eden Brown Synergy are currently recruiting for an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join an initial response team with Devon County Council.

This role is to cover South Devon - Newton Abbott and Totnes.

The Role:


The Initial Response team is responsible for carrying out Child and Family Assessments and, when necessary, section 47 Child Protection enquiries to decide whether a child is in need of support from our Children and Families teams, The South Devon teams ofSocial Workers, ASYE's and Family Practitioners are managed and supported by Team Managers, Assistant Team Managers, Advanced Social workers and our Specialist Assessment Practitioners.

Staff can hot desk from either office base in Totnes or Newton Abbott and there is flexibility around hybrid working with a combination of office and homeworking.

Remote working is supported as long as this meets the needs of the service

Essential Requirements:

  • Social Work Qualification
  • Experience as a social worker within children's services
  • Social Work England Registration
  • Driving license and access to own vehicle
