The role
As a Workshop Team Leader you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary.

We wish to appoint a skilled Workshop Technician with expertise in metalwork and machine fabrication and an Ideal opportunity to be part of a team that offers a great place to work within a stable company with a role that can be varied and interesting.

Day-to-day, you'll operate and maintain lathes and milling machines to produce precision components according to specifications, as well as:

  • Utilize fabrication techniques to assemble, cut, and shape materials to meet project requirements.
  • Maintain welding equipment and ensure a safe working environment. Perform welding tasks using various techniques (MIG, TIG, or ARC) to fabricate metal components, and inspect welded joints for accuracy and conformance to specifications.
  • Be the appointed Inventory holder for materials and tools.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide regular updates on project progress.
This role is full time and based onsite at RAF Wyton.


Essential experience of the Workshop Team Leader:

  • Proven experience as a Workshop Technician or similar role in operating lathes and milling machines to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work on own initiative independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problemsolving and communication skills.

Qualifications for the Workshop Team Leader:

  • Level 3 Award in Gas, Mig and Tig Welding with knowledge of the different welding techniques.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Normal colour perception graded as CP2.
