Procurement Specialist

Working Hours: 37.5 per week

Location:
Dundee, UK (Hybrid - min 2 days per week in office)


My client is an award-winning aquaculture technology company specialising in in-water electric stunners, marine protection products, 3D biomass cameras and other welfare first aquaculture solutions.

About the role
The Procurement Specialist will report into the Commercial Trading Manager, forming the procurement division of their Corporate Services department.

You will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the efficiency of their supply chain operations by leading on the procurement of a wide range of goods and services, ensuring compliance with procurement regulations, and driving the realisation of savings and benefits to Ace Aquatec.


What you'll be doing

  • Creating and placing accurate purchase orders based on business demand.
  • Carrying out product sourcing and new supplier selection in a timely manner, demonstrating the best value at all times.
  • Setting up credit accounts and managing supplier relationships.
  • Following up with supplier order confirmations and tracking goods through to delivery and invoicing.
  • Making purchase recommendations based on business trends and product availability to ensure the right goods are in the right place at the right time.
  • Negotiating best price for company goods and services, without sacrificing quality or delivery times.
  • Undertaking cost reduction activities to reduce purchase cost for current product range.
  • Communicating proactively with internal teams and external partners to address supply chain issues and ensure timely resolution.
  • Supporting the resolution of any discrepancies or issues related to orders, deliveries, or inventory.
  • Contribute to crossfunctional projects aimed at improving overall supply chain performance.

Key requirements

  • 2+ years purchasing experience as a minimum
  • Ideally Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or similar qualification or willingness to work towards CIPS qualification.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills & attention to detail.
  • Experience of working closely with suppliers to negotiate best value.
  • Advanced experience of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience of other logistics and/or financial software may also be beneficial.

Salary:
£30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
