1:1 Support Assistant

The role

  • Key responsibilities_
  • Working on a 1:1 basis, supporting the designated child both inside and outside of the classroom
  • Engaging assigned pupil and encouraging interaction with lessons and the curriculum
  • Liaising with class teachers to closely monitor the progress of your assigned child
  • Working closely with SENDCo to plan and implement tailored intervention strategies and making accurate records of their effectiveness
  • Supervising your assigned child during their breaks
  • Implementing your assigned child's EHCP

Key skills and experience required

  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualifications
  • Experience working within a school environment
  • A good understanding of special educational needs including ASD
  • A flexible, cando attitude
  • A calm, nurturing nature
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
