The post of Foster Carer Reviewing Officer is located within the Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Unit, which strengthens the independence of the role.

As a Foster Carer Reviewing Officer you will independently review local authority foster carers and relatives or connected people approved by the local authority as foster carers for specific children, on an annual basis.

You will present recommendations to the Fostering Service and Fostering Panel on whether the foster carer and their household remain suitable to continue to foster and if the terms of approval are still appropriate.

You will provide effective independent oversight of the core activities of the Fostering Service, ensuring compliance with National Fostering Standards and Regulations, the Children Act 1989 and 2002, the Care Planning, Placement and Case Review Regulations 2010 and Ofsted Inspection requirements.

You will challenge poor practice and identify and report safeguarding issues where necessary.

If you have the experience, qualifications and enthusiasm required for this position and you think you have the necessary commitment and skills to enable us to achieve outstanding outcomes for all children placed with foster carers, then we would like to hear from you.
