As a Barclays BUK Client Lead, your role is a senior role in the UK Procurement client partnerships team.

The BUK Procurement Client Lead role plays a key supporting role in ensuring the services provided to Barclays UK by the Procurement function are delivered in accordance with the service agreement entered by BUK and ServCo.

You will be responsible for service delivery, managing key senior business relationships within the Procurement function and drive key BUK wide initiatives for the BUK Procurement Director.

Working Flexibly

What will you be doing?:


  • Representing the BUK Head of Procurement leadership team
  • Leading elements of the BUK Procurement strategy for the team
  • Supporting and Coordinating across the Procurement senior team
  • Having virtual leadership of AVPs within wider client team as required to deliver the required services
  • Providing point in time leadership and line management to Sourcing professionals seconded to work on BUK deals
  • Working collaboratively in a matrix environment to deliver savings and other KPIs for BUK

What we're looking for:


  • Bachelor's Degree qualified or equivalent. Or with excellent, proven Procurement experience in a business environment and in a senior leadership role
  • Proven, stakeholder management skills; ability to conduct senior level (to COO and Sub-BU CEO) engagement/communication comfortably and credibly
  • Broad commercial background, including a solid understanding of the sourcing and supplier management policies and procedures

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Broad Understanding of Bank financial approval processes including business case preparation
  • Welldeveloped financial/business planning and management skills
  • Proven detailed knowledge of appropriate commercial models and approaches/techniques necessary to achieve best in class deals
  • The ability to build and leverage relationships with senior stakeholders across your portfolio of clients to obtain buyin to Procurement agenda and strategy
