Benefits Analyst
We are recruiting for a Benefits Analyst on a permanent basis.

The Benefits Analyst is accountable for conducting the technical and analytical aspects of benefits realisation activities in accordance to agreed benefits realisation best practice.

This includesdefining benefits, determining expected values, allocating measures, managing measurement reporting, and supporting the development of benefits management capability in delivery teams and the supply chain.


As a Benefits Analyst, you will need to have/be:

  • Ability to analyse business activity
  • Business process mapping skills
  • Ability to organise and facilitate workshops
  • Ability to create a plan for specific tasks, gain agreement to it from stakeholders who need to input into the work, and monitor and deliver against it.
  • Ability to engage with and manage stakeholders and Government on sensitive issues
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, to a variety of audiences, including internal stakeholders at various levels in the organisation
  • Experience of benefits realisation in complex business change environments such as identifying and realising benefits in a programme
  • Identifying and measuring business benefits
  • Delivering benefits management and realisation plans

Role of Benefits Analyst:


  • Enabling the outcomes and benefits attributed to each Directorate to be realised
  • Clearly articulating the requirements and benefits to be achieved for each Area and constituent Projects that flow down from the statutory obligations as set out within the Business Case and the Development Agreement. This role contributes to clearly articulatingthe benefits for areas/projects.
  • Providing checks and balances, by constructively challenging those accountable for delivery
  • Outcomes and benefits will be achieved safely, on time, to budget and to the right quality. This role contributes to this accountability.
  • Projects are fit to progress to the next stage.
  • Assessing the impact of proposed change to the overall Business Case, Development Agreement, Programme Requirements and Outcomes. This role contributes to this accountability by providing benefits impact assessments of proposed changes.
  • Managing key external relationships, and acting as the focal point for formal communications
  • The directorate is also accountable for:
  • Managing the Development Agreement and Framework Document
  • and ensuring corporate obligations are being delivered.
  • Setting the standard, process and approach for benefits management, capability development & reporting, which this role contributes to; and
  • Providing economic and commercial analysis services to support business case development and passenger demand modelling and analysis.
  • Support implementation of benefits realisation in projects and programmes including the measurement regime and support to benefit owners
  • Organise and support benefit and disbenefit identification and quantification activities and workshops
  • Analyse and evaluate benefits and realisation progress with consistent forensic techniques producing standard, agreed outputs such as benefit profiles and prepare reports on the benefits management framework and register when required, working with benefitand measure owners
  • Provide education and training sessions for programme staff with other members of the benefits realisation team
