Role Responsibilities

  • Consulting with managers from Team Leader to Senior Executives on a range of people management issues, working collaboratively with them to find appropriate solutions.
  • Advising managers and staff on policy, process, employment law, best practice.
  • Monitoring the performance review system and supporting completion of the appraisal process
  • Progressing new recruits from selection through to delivering HR inductions.
  • Liaising with the Recruitment Specialist to help managers define their recruitment needs.
  • Requesting production of new contracts and changes of contract documentation.
  • Maintaining HR policies and updating these as requested by the HR Director.
  • Ensuring payroll and benefits changes are processed correctly by the Payroll and Benefits Coordinator.
  • Working on HR Projects including EDI plan, CSR initiatives, Agile Working, etc.

Person Specification

  • A minimum of 3 years HR Advisor generalist experience
  • Sufficient generalist HR law, best practice and policy knowledge to advise and coach on a wide range of HR matters
  • Confidence to follow up on HR issues or advice not acted on by managers
  • A friendly and polite manner with staff and senior people combined with sufficient gravitas to give confidence in the advice given
  • A preference for working on a variety of tasks at any one time and ability to effectively juggle and prioritise multiple deadlines effectively


In return, you will receive a salary of between £35,000-£42,000 (FTE) plus 27 days holiday plus BH, bonus, Private health and dental and enhanced pension.
