THE PE DEPARTMENT

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

To work within and contribute to established Academy and department frameworks for lesson planning, delivery and evaluation
Lead the assessment process for PE and work with colleagues across the Academy
To actively lead the teaching of PE across all ages and ability ranges, planning a broad and balanced curriculum with equality for all
To consistently plan and deliver outstanding lessons, ensuring that a variety of teaching resources are utilised appropriately
To demonstrate outstanding knowledge of examination course requirements (GCSE / A-Level / CNAT Sport)
Accurately mark and moderate NEA components of examination courses
To set, mark and analyse internal examinations and tests as required
To demonstrate an excellent knowledge of a wide range of teaching methods and to implement these in the classroom and across the department
Support the positive behaviour for learning policies in lessons
To be fully committed to the Academy's house and enrichment activities
To provide accurate information for parents as directed by the Academy and department policy and to attend parents' evenings and other presentation meetings as directed
Manage external coaching staff
Manage departmental budget
