We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Medical & Clinical Administrator that is looking for a new challenge to work in an organisation that will help you develop and achieve your goals to become the best you can be.


We are looking for a fixed-term Senior Medical and Clinical Administrator to join our Adult Mental Health Services for Shropshire situated in Severn Fields, Shrewsbury for 11 months to cover maternity leave.

The Service offers mental health care and treatment across a variety of different age ranges and presentation.


The post holder will support the Admin Team Leader in the day to day management of the administrative team along with providing comprehensive administrative support to Healthcare professionals and/or named Medics working within the administrative team.

The Senior Medical and Clinical Administrator role is an integral part of our admin team and is busy, challenging and rewarding.

The role is 37.5 hours per week supporting the Adult Mental Health services based in Shropshire and is fixed term for 11 months.


What will the role entail:

To provide an effective and efficient administrative service to Healthcare Professionals and/or named Medics.


Line manage direct reports carrying out regular one-to-one meetings, supervision sessions, appraisals, allocation of work, induction and training and development.

Diary management of a medical professional or team planning appointments and clinics.

Use a variety of electronic systems (MS Office, RiO, MICAD, E-Proc).

Manage and deal with calls from service users, families, carers, and other professionals.


Our administration offices are busy places and our clinical teams rely on the team to provide an efficient, effective service to support them in delivering the very best care to our patients.


What are we looking for:

Flexibility to meet service need with a passion for quality.
A confident communicator, with strong customer service skills.
Experience of clinical systems (RIO or similar).
Resilience to work in a busy service.
A passion for the care and support provided to our service users.
Experience of working in the NHS or a healthcare setting.
Ideally hold an NVQ level 3 admin or equivalent qualification/experience.

Supporting the Admin Team Leader in the day to day management of the administrative team and the provision of a comprehensive administrative service to the Community Mental Health Services.


Provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to Healthcare Professionals and/or named Medics to achieve an effective and efficient administrative service.


To plan and organise appointments, meetings, clinics, rosters, diaries, and activities to ensure that standards of service appropriate to the area of work are met.

To produce clinical correspondence e.g. letters, reports, tribunal papers, from a variety of sources including documents and digital dictation.

Support in the management of team rotas, ensuring that the team has adequate staffing levels at all time
