Reporting to the Engineering Manager the primary focus of the Electrical Design Engineer is designing electrical assemblies and sub-components in a 3d environment through solid modelling.

Responsibilities of the role:

Designing electrical assemblies and subcomponents in a 3d environment through solid modelling.
Development & preparation of Electrical schematics, wiring harnesses drawings and component drawings to relevant ASME and BS standards for internal and external usage for prototype or production usage.
Usage of Teamcentre for PLM BOM structure development and drawing release, and support peer review of drawings for release. Support of prototype and preproduction builds through virtual design reviews, system arrangement drawings and sub system BOMs.
You will support the purchasing team by answering technical queries from suppliers on drawings and models, modifying models to meet supplier manufacturing requirements, and other DFM activities.
As well as support problem solving, prototyping, intellectual property, timeline management, and product testing and validation. Also performs assignments in investigation of new products and technologies and supports existing product improvements and productmaintenance.

Education and Experience Requirements:

BSc or equivalent in Electrical engineering (other similar degree's will be considered) and a minimum of 57 years in a product design or development role
Design and engineering experience of electrical components, systems and systems integration including harnesses development, wiring routing best practices.
Proficient with UGNX (preferred) or CREO CAD platforms.
A working knowledge of a Vesys or similar harnesses and schematic development tools.
A good understanding of Electrical component and system trouble shooting.
Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate to all levels within the organization.
Highly proficient in System and harness schematic generation and understanding.
