Reed Education Reading are currently working with a well-established childcare provider whose offices are based in Aldermaston to recruit for a Head of HR to start in the New Year.


This position is coming vacant due to retirement and is an excellent opportunity for either someone looking to take on a new challenge and next step in their career, or for an experience Head of HR.

Accountabilities

  • Working as part of the Nursery Support Team, provide strategic and day to day management of the HR function (HR, Recruitment, Training), including professional leadership, support and development to a small HR team, in order to increase knowledge, sharebest practice and to ensure that relevant professional standards are met.
  • Produce and manage the execution of key HR functions including Recruitment, Employee Engagement, Workforce Administration, Employee Relations, as well as maintaining and improving HR systems and processes.
  • Manage the HR Department including Training and Recruitment providing support and guidance in individuals development.
  • Regularly coach, mentor and support senior and high potential colleagues to identify individual strengths and development needs, develop and maintain effective relationships, building leadership capability and encourage retention.
  • Establish and ensure that HR key performance indicators are met and provide reports on all areas of HR, Payroll and Learning and Development.
  • Ensure HR polices are fully updated and that the company complies with current regulations, accepted professional standards, policies and procedures and legislation (including legislation on data protection, the Equality Act and health and safety).
  • Give counsel and oversee complex employee relations issues such as grievance and disciplinary cases and manage difficult cases with professionalism.
  • Take a lead role in transforming and strengthening the organisational culture to reflect the company values.
  • Ensure managers are sufficiently skilled and enabled to access appropriate guidance and information to manage workforce issues.
