Freight Forwarder - Project and Exhibitions


Location:
Tonbridge, Kent


Salary:
£28,000 - £35,000


RG Freight Recruitment are working on behalf of a specialist freight and logistics company to find an experienced
Freight Forwarder to join their growing project and exhibition team in
Tonbridge, Kent.

This client are regarded as one of the premier exhibition freight forwarders in the UK.

Using their network spanning 60 countries globally, they provide a comprehensive and tailored logistics solution to exhibitions, trade shows and large projects that require specialist expertise.

As well as a wealth of knowledge of road and sea movements, customs regulations and experience in moving large exhibitions across the globe, they also go the extra mile with every shipment personally shadowed by one of their forwarders ensuring that all projects go off without a hitch,

There will be a requirement of global travel involved in this role.

This is usually ever couple of months and can be two days to a couple of weeks at a time.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Coordinate with clients to understand their shipping requirements for exhibitions and trade shows
  • Plan and schedule shipping activities to ensure timely delivery of exhibits to the event venue
  • Handle all necessary documentation, including customs clearance and insurance forms
  • Communicate with event organizers to ensure compliance with their shipping guidelines and deadlines
  • Arrange for transportation, storage, and handling of exhibits throughout the duration of the event
  • Provide tracking information and regular updates to clients throughout the shipping process
  • Handle any issues or delays that may arise during shipping or at the event venue
  • Manage costs and ensure that shipping expenses are within budget
  • Stay uptodate on industry regulations and changes that may affect shipping requirements
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and event organizers to ensure successful outcomes for all parties involved.

The Person

  • Multimodal freight forwarding experience
  • Air, road and sea
  • Experience in large scale project or exhibition freight forwarding
  • Good knowledge of customs regulations
  • Excellent organisational skills with good attention to deal
  • Ability to juggle multiple balls while prioritising a changing workload
  • Happy to travel as required
