Description

Psychological Medicine in Primary Care Stockport works with people with persistent physical symptoms and /or personality difficulties with complex needs and is based at Forest House Royal Oldham Hospital.

You will be required to provide efficient and effective administration to the team.

To undertake the administration of all referrals received into the team.


To ensure high standards are maintained at all times and that work is produced effectively and efficiently in accordance with the Trust's policies and procedures.

Ensure that all relevant referral information is recorded on PARIS and other relevant information systems and be responsible for the security of the information contained within these systems

To collate all relevant available information to enable the effective management of referrals received by the team.

To carry out general clerical duties including dealing with internal and external post, filing, scanning, faxing and photocopying documents.

Ensure accurate inputting of patient information.


Deal with incoming postal and electronic mail as well as telephone enquiries and give advice wherever possible, using own initiative.

Our admin staff provide support to all the team in the following areas

  • Typing of clinical letters
  • Answering the phone and dealing with queries from patients, carers and professionals and forwarding messages to the right person
  • Liaising with the duty worker regarding urgent queries and concerns
  • Inputting referrals on the patient electronic system
  • Ordering stationary and equipment
  • Being a positive and supportive team colleague
  • Being flexible, patient and calm


The post holder will be required to develop and maintain good working relationships with all patients, service users and staff.

We require the person to work 22.5 hours per week, preferably split over three days but negotiable.
