Hunter Mental Health have an exciting opportunity for a fantastic CAMHS practitioner


The role will be providing assessment, treatment and care to children, young people and their families in a Midlands based service.

This service offers help, support, care and advice for users - including talking-based therapy, creative therapy, and familytherapy. Children and young people are still developing, so the service encourage positive childhood development as part of their support.

Experience in community mental health is required as the service would require someone to hit the ground running andbe a real asset to the service.


They also need someone with the following:

  • Experience of working in CAMHS
  • Ability to provide excellent assessment, treatment and care reviews to patients and their families/ carers
  • Be able to complete care plans and risk assessments and understand when a patient meets the criteria for specialist CAMHS or requires another service.
  • Ability to take responsibility for supporting team members in their decision making
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection and have good written skills and be timely in their writing up of appts and sending out letters.
  • To take a role in facilitating and/or cofacilitating clinical groups with patients and their carers.
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good Communicator
  • Good computer skills
  • A car driver with access to a car for business use will be desirable.
The working hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00am till 5pm however part-time will be considered.

Within the service there is a support team of other Community Psychiatric Nurses, OT's and Psychiatrists, along with the supervision of the Team Lead.
