10 hours per week (Thursday and Friday in the first instance)

plus 1 hours MDSA

TERM TIME ONLY WITH NO TERM TIME LEAVE

The Governing body of Acton Park Primary School are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced teaching assistant to work under the guidance of teaching/senior staff and within an agreed system of supervision, to implement agreed work programmes with individuals/groups.

This could include those requiring detailed and specialist knowledge in particular areas and will involve assisting the teacher in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Use specialist (curricular/learning) skills/training/experience to support pupils
Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Development Plans and small step targets
Establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations
Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils within the classroom and wider school
Support pupils consistently whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs
Encourage pupils to interact and work cooperatively with others and engage all pupils in activities, e.g during planned integration and unplanned play times
Promote independence and employ strategies to recognise and reward achievement of selfreliance
Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement

This post also includes a daily half hour role supervising the children over the lunch period.
