About the Strategic Partnerships Team


Our goal is to build strong external partnerships and stakeholder relationships to help grow a better shared understanding of the challenges facing our city.

Providing a vital secretariat function to the City Board, we'll strengthen existing relationships with the WMCA, universities, private sector firms and other partners.

We'll also work closely with the Council's corporate communications and external affairs teams to engage on shared commitments for action.

Ours is a team of experts in relationship management, stakeholder engagement and joint policy work. It's a hub for knowledge about partner organisations and their people.


About the role


Across a complex programme of work, you can help deliver a high-quality service that narrates the added value of partnership working through the analysis of data, knowledge, and user intelligence.

Your focus will be on supporting the Head of Strategic Partnerships with understanding the ongoing landscape, maturity, and effectiveness of key partnership arrangements across the city.

It will involve social and attitudinal research, tangible horizon scanning and evidence-based thinking.

This important role includes producing compelling and actionable insights.

You'll help shape strategies, inform decision-making and service-design, and support activities that contribute to the delivery of best-in-class customer-focused services.


To be successful in this role it's likely that you'll bring:

  • Experience of analysing business performance, data and insight management information to recommend solutions, and of using statistical methods for description
  • A sound understanding of statutory and nonstatutory partnerships, with experience of working across organisational boundaries
  • Experience of a range of research and data analysis tools and techniques, especially those used for social science/social policy research
  • Skills in analysing data from a wide range of sources, creating and communicating insights by producing concise written reports, dashboards and face to face presentations
