Position Summary:
- The role of Assistant Business Officer is to support Business Manager/Branch Manager to deliver a professional relationship management service to customers, prospective customers and professionals.
- This is a key support role to the Business Managers. An important and attractive part of the role is the diverse and varied duties you would undertake on a daily basis, as well as gaining credit assessment skills and extensive knowledge of the retail andbuytolet mortgage lending.
What You'll be Doing Each Day:
Customer
- To assist Business Managers/Branch Manager in delivering a superior relationship management service to customers, prospects and professionals.
- To perform credit evaluation and conduct detailed and enhanced customer research to fulfil 'Know Your Customers' and 'Know Your Customers' Customers' requirements.
- To support on daily activities including customers planning and pipeline management.
- To prepare credit proposals, annual reviews and reports on BTL mortgage credit facility for risk review, assessment and control.
- To monitor and control designated accounts' performance in accordance to the Bank's guidelines.
- To keep abreast of the current banking regulation, the Bank's Lending Policy and latest market conditions.
- To provide support and cover for other Business Managers/Officers when required.
- To provide relief cover for Retail when necessary.
- To assist Business Manager/Branch Manager in achieving departmental objectives.
- To ensure own personal development objectives are achieved.
- To provide assistance and support to junior staff.
- To build and maintain good business contacts internally and externally.
- To comply with all applicable regulations, rules, codes, guidelines and standards set by regulators and the Bank, and carry out duties with high integrity.
- To adhere to all established risk control guidelines, procedures and measures to identify, assess, report, mitigate and monitor the risks involved in the daytoday work.
- To main awareness of operational risk within assigned portfolio and minimise the likelihood of it occurring including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control.
The Skills You'll Need to Succeed:
Essential Skills:
- Proficient in spoken and written English and Cantonese; Mandarin an advantage.
- University graduate in related disciplines.
- Experience of working in relevant environments such as Retail/ Mortgage/ Commercial/ Corporate Banking.
- Good understanding of customers' needs and delivering superior customer service.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Experience of planning and prioritising work effectively and adhering to strict deadlines.
- Ability to understand and analyse financial data.
- Good understanding of the regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.
Desirable Skills:
- CeMAP qualified.
- A good understanding of the UK retail mortgage market.
