Job Description:

NEC Care, part of the NEC Health division, delivers the national diabetic eye screening programme.

Our mission, vision and values are to provide people-centric services that aim to improve the health and wellbeing of those we serve by working to achieveexcellence in service delivery.


We are commissioned by Public Health England to provide retinal screening on behalf of the NHS and our service is compliant with the National Service Framework (NSF) and National Screening Committee (NSC) guidance, standards, and objectives.


An opportunity has arisen to join the Dorset Diabetic Eye Screening Programme as a screener/ grader covering clinics in Dorset and grading from our office in Bournemouth.

This is a permanent, full-time post

Our screener/graders are the heart of NEC Care, spending time on the ground, helping our patients.

As a Grader, you'll assess images taken in clinic for signs of diabetic retinopathy or other eye diseases or conditions associated with diabetes.

We'll needyou to be trained in grading for diabetic retinopathy, holding a Health Screening Diploma (with grading) qualification or equivalent.

You'll be supported with training in image assessment specific to our programme and local hospital eye services, but oncecompleted will be working largely unsupervised in a pressured environment, so a cool head is essential


You will need a broad set of skills, but attention to detail, a methodical approach, flexibility and self-sufficiency are really important.

Past diabetic eye screening experience is essential.


Qualifications:


This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to progress their screener/grading career to a senior grading role, or for a newly qualified screener who has completed the Health Screeners Diploma and would like to progress on the grading ladder.
