An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an important charity that works with people in local communities to help them access the support, opportunities, and skills they need to overcome social inequalities, improve their well-being and change their lives.


Position:
Coach Practitioner - Complex Emotional Needs


Location:
Gloucestershire - Remote


Hours:
Full-time 37.5hrs and part-time hours available - Monday to Friday


Salary:
£16 per hour

Complex Emotional Needs (CEN) is an umbrella term that captures a broad group of clients, who may have received a diagnosis of 'Personality Disorder' when using mental health services or have comparable needs.


According to national statistics:

  • 5% of people in the UK have a personality disorder.
  • 30-40% of people accessing secondary mental health services have a personality disorder.
  • 40-50% of people in inpatient services will have a personality disorder.


Many people living with a personality disorder report traumatic personal histories and may demonstrate pervasive patterns of instability in emotion and behaviour regulation.


Key responsibilities of the Coach Practitioner include:
*Deliver psychologically informed coaching-based interventions to clients over the telephone and via videoconferencing technology.
*Be responsible for the delivery of a broad range of coaching-based interventions within the limits of professional competence, skills, and experience.
*Employ a broad theoretical knowledge base to analyse and interpret complex information and design coaching-based strategies tailored to individual needs.
*Provide crisis intervention support as needed.
*Facilitate online group sessions and workshops.
*Use a variety of techniques to help clients cope with trauma.
*Enable clients to understand how trauma has affected their lives and relationships and work with them to develop healthy coping mechanisms.
*Keep records of client progress and update coaching plans as needed.
*Refer clients to community resources as needed.
*Advocate for clients within the various health and social care systems as needed.
*Be responsible for developing working relationships with relevant stakeholders, partners, statutory, voluntary and community groups and organisations.

To succeed in the role of Coach Practitioner, your key skills will include:
*Experience in delivering evidence based psychosocial interventions with clients of a complex nature.
*Experience working with individuals living with CEN (BPD/EUPD) and/or complex trauma or other equivocal experience.
*Experience in completing risk assessments /risk management plans.
*Experience working in an MDT setting, including liaising and consulting with GPs and community providers.
*Experience in using Microsoft Office programmes in a variety of ways.
*Experience in delivering telephone-based interventions and support.
*Experience of working with complex clients using evidence based therapeutic modalities.
*Understanding of Outcome Measures and their relevance to achieving client centred and service goals.
