MVM/R(D)SVS/Hospital for Small Animals

UE04 £23,144 to £25,138 per annum, pro rata (A revised salary range for this grade of £24,533 to £27,181 is planned to take effect from Spring 2024)

Contract Type - Open Ended

Part Time - Averaging 28 hours/week, paid overtime accrued with additional shift cover

Comprised of 12-hour shifts, with 1 hour unpaid lunch (7.30am-8.30pm)
**Working in a rolling pattern, 4 shifts on and 8 shifts off

We are a large veterinary and teaching hospital with a great team of vets, nurses and assistants who are all committed to animal health and welfare.

This is a demanding role and requires dedication, proactivity, flexibility, a resilient work ethic and a strong belief in delivering the highest standard of patient care.


This post is to backfill for internal staff movement, we have a full 6-8 week training programme where you will shadow our friendly and experienced staff to learn the ropes.


Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Experience working with animals in a veterinary setting is essential.
  • Full, clean driving licence is essential.
  • Ability to work alone as well as part of a team is essential. Excellent communication skills are essential to this role.
