Description
We are currently recruiting a Youth Justice Decision Maker based in Abingdon.


Role:


Make consistent disposal decisions for young offenders in line with relevant legislation, fulfilling the statutory requirement for Police & Partner Agencies to divert them where possible from entering the Criminal Justice System.


Skills/Requirements:


  • Proven ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbally) with internal and external stakeholders at all levels both verbally and in writing and to contribute effectively to multi-agency meetings.
  • ICT literate including use of Word Excel and PowerPoint, and willingness to learn new systems as required.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as a team member within a shared service and multiagency environment, and under minimum supervision.
  • Proven ability to work on own initiative, prioritising and organising own workload, problem solving as appropriate and meeting targets with mínimal direct supervision with a proven record of delivering results.
  • Proven negotiation and influencing skills, resilience and ability to adapt communication style appropriately
  • Proven commitment to continual professional development. Willingness to learn relevant Youth Justice guidance and procedures
  • A UK driving licence is considered desirable as travel to different locations across the Force will be required
  • Knowledge of data protection, Police child protection/welfare duties and TVP confidential systems.
