TLP are delighted to be working with our client, an award winning, multinational logistics company in their search for experienced
Customs Operative to join their growing team on a full time, permanent basis - with plenty of progression and development opportunity available.

Working within a friendly, professional environment, you will become part of a busy operational team handling a variety of Customs related processes and formalities, ensuring workload is completed in an accurate and timely manner.

Some aspects of what your role will involve:

Performing customs entries for Imports and Exports to a high standard
Customs formalities for all modes
Building and maintaining client relations for continued business with customers
Data capture and record keeping
Supporting customers with general customs advice
Internal auditing checks to maintain high level customs compliance
Creation of customs documents
Working with HMRC and other customs authorities

Experience & Skills Required:

*Solid experience in
customs clearances and knowledge will give you a distinct advantage*- Experience in performing customs entries (2 years' preferred minimum).

Performing both Import and Export Customs processes including general customs compliance
Competence in handling and submitting additional customs documentation, certificates, or licences
Knowledge of Tariffs
Bonded customs, Special/Simplified Customs Procedures
Handling of customs for freight movements involving EU/EFTA countries and understanding of proposed new procedures starting 202
Understanding of AEO Procedures
Understanding of Inco Terms
Additional declarations for specific destinations and origins
Strong organisational and communication skills
Excellent problemsolving skills
