Substance Misuse Recovery Facilitator

£22 P/H
We are currently looking for a Substance Misuse Recovery Facilitator for a role in Bracknell Forest.

The post holder will be part of a multi-disciplinary team within the Bracknell Forest Family Safeguarding Team, based within Childrens Social Care and includes Social Workers, Mental Health Practitioners and Domestic Abuse Practitioners.


Daily and monthly responsibilities

  • To engage high risk families who have substance misuse problems, provide advice, harm minimisation information, and encourage positive engagement within this service to improve outcomes for children
  • To deliver a full range of interventions on a onetoone basis, in group settings and in the community utilising motivational interviewing, cognitive behaviour techniques and brief interventions to promote engagement with treatment services, encourage selfesteem, wellbeing, selfresponsibility, enhanced motivation and improve parenting capacity;
  • To manage an agreed caseload of adults and young people with a range of needs.
  • To complete comprehensive assessments, risk assessments and develop risk management plans as required which will be aimed at promoting the safety and security of the individual, the family, staff within services, and members of the public and to regularly review risk.
  • To contribute to the development of individual recovery plans, review these quarterly and support them to achieve their agreed outcomes, provide health education in respect of reducing harm, blood borne viruses, overdose prevention and where required provide safe storage boxes and advice.
  • Promote sexual health awareness and support access to sexual health screening services as required.
  • To undertake drug testing as required and support staff to understand and undertake these tasks, following safety guidelines and protocol
  • To liaise with partner agencies such Housing, Adult Social Care, criminal justice agencies, schools, and health professionals to obtain and share information about individuals to be used to ensure that a holistic approach is taken and provided
  • Promote the Family Safeguarding Model in multiagency forums through presenting data and case studies as required.
