SEND Teaching Assistant
  • Permanent
Position

Grade 5 SCP - 6

Pro Rata Salary based on 29.5 hours per week

Highcliffe St Mark Primary School has a vacancy for a SEND Teaching Assistant with enthusiasm for supporting children with special needs or disabilities.

The post will be either 5 full days, with three lunch duties, (term time only), 29.5 hours per week, or could be split as a job share.

We are looking for someone to be proactive:

  • We want you to think on your feet, take direction but be independent with it and take an active role
  • To encourage independence whilst providing a level of support appropriate to the child and their individual needs.

But most importantly we want you to care about our children; they get one chance at school and their primary years are so crucial to getting this right for life.

We want you to be motivated by their success, know that they learn when memorable experiences are created and need someone who has clear boundaries but is kind and caring.

Your commitment is fundamental; you get from your career what you put into it and we want someone who will take a full and active part in school life.

Our teaching assistants are invited to join children and teachers on school trips and residential visits.

These are an integral part of our curriculum and supporting our extra-curricular activities would be an important aspect of your role.

The element of lunchtime supervision is vital to ensure the safety of our children and help instil our school values at lunchtime so that children look after each other well, develop healthy, active lifestyles and are well cared for.

We can offer you specialist training, and a supportive welcoming staff team.
