A leading education institution in Bath is looking for a Front-End Developer to join their Web Team.

Focusing on the design and development of their public website, this role will be key in ensuring it represents the values and attracts students from far andwide.


What you'll be doing:


Joining a small web team and working closely with the Web Manager, you will maintain and improve the current design and functionality of the website within a CMS framework, ensuring it is accessible and meets strategic objectives.

In addition to this, you willget involved with other projects including the intranet and externally hosted websites. Part of the role will involve troubleshooting problems and logging support tickets with external partners too.

Working on new web design projects from initial concepts to completion, you'll be able to utilise your knowledge and interest in UX and front-end web technologies to create high-quality, user-focused interfaces.


The skills we're looking for:


  • At least a year of commercial experience writing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code using current best practice.
  • A portfolio or examples of userfocused, accessible websites or interfaces you've created.
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of web accessibility standards.
  • Previously used creative or prototyping software to wireframe ideas (Adobe XD, Figma or similar).
  • Experience with version control software.
  • Ability to juggle conflicting deadlines and prioritise own workload.
  • You'll need to live within a commutable distance of Bath.
Bonus points for

  • An interest in or previous experience working in the Education sector.
