Medisoft is the UK's leading provider of software for hospital Ophthalmology services and private eye clinics.

Our main product, Medisoft Ophthalmology, is used routinely at over 90 hospitals worldwide to help clinical teams assess vision defects and save sight.


Our innovative new Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, mediSIGHT is used by around 70 organisations and will replace Medisoft Ophthalmology as Medisoft's flagship product, consolidating over 20 years of product development and user feedback.

mediSIGHT is localised for several European markets and is live in three languages currently:
English, French and German.


ABOUT YOU
We are looking to employ an enthusiastic Accounts Assistant to strengthen our expanding finance function.

This newly created role will report to the Finance Manager and work closely with them to undertake a variety of accounting duties in a busy working environment.


Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Processing expenses, making sure claims are in line with company policies
  • Processing month end journals; for prepayments, accruals, and salaries
  • Entering supplier and customer invoices into accounts software
  • Produce the weekly payment schedule for the Finance Manager to review
  • Process faster payments, BACS and international payments on banking system
  • Posting transactions into accounting software; including bank payments, transfers, supplier payments and bank/customer receipts.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations on all accounts within accounting software
  • Raise quotes/chase purchase orders from customers
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers to resolve any question or problems that may arise
  • Admin, including monitoring of accounts mailbox, electronic filing of financial paperwork
  • Assisting with annual financial audit
  • Additional ad hoc finance tasks as and when required

The role requires:

  • Organised and accurate with a focus on attention to detail
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to prioritise own workload
  • Ability to work autonomously with an understanding of when to escalate matters or seek guidance
  • Good time management
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Willing to undergo relevant training
  • Keen to learn and develop within the role
  • Experience or knowledge of the following would be an advantage:
  • Sage 50 (or other accounting software e.g., Xero)
  • Finance orientated, previous experience working in an accounts/finance team
  • Ability to analyse data and provide relevant financial reporting
  • Relevant finance qualification e.g., AAT
The role is based at our offices in Leeds (with a hybrid-working model), and occasional travel may be required.
