Job description

Are you passionate about creating an inclusive and engaging environment for students to belong and thrive? As our Residence Life Officer (Student Experience) you could make a difference in over 2000 student lives every year, shaping and enhancing their student experience across the Leeds Beckett halls of residence.

You will join the Residence Life Team who provide dedicated student experience, welfare, pastoral, and conduct support to students living in Leeds Beckett managed accommodation.

Our aim is to support students in integrating within their hall's community, creating connections through memorable experiences and supporting them in navigating the challenges of student life.

You will be responsible for planning and developing a full programme of events, activities and campaigns that enrich and engage our residents.

No two days are the same in halls, you will need to be flexible and be able to work proactively to respond to issues students may face during their time in halls.

For us to provide the best possible service to students, throughout the year, out of hours welfare support is provided (term time-rota basis) and occasions of evening and weekend work will also be required.

You will get to know our residents, engaging with them from move-in to move out, gaining insight into their needs and shaping plans in response to their feedback.

To support you in the delivery of your programme of activities and events, you will be able to recruit and lead a team of casual work students.

With your guidance, this team will deliver peer led student experience activities and support your innovative and inclusive events and campaigns.

As part of your role, you will work closely with colleagues and stakeholders within Leeds Beckett, the halls of residences, Student Union and more, creating strong partnerships to enhance student life and residential experience in halls.

Working here means you'll also have access to a wide range of benefits including our generous pension schemes, excellent holiday entitlements, flexible working, reduced study fees, subsidised fitness facilities and a lot more.
