Marketing Manchester have an exciting new opportunity for a Marketing Assistant to assist the fast-paced Marketing team with the development, delivery and evaluation of marketing plans that promote Manchester as a key destination for business and leisure tourism.


Marketing Manchester promotes Greater Manchester nationally and internationally as a place to visit, invest, meet, and study. Our work is an essential component to successfully raise the profile of the city-region as the gateway to the North and improve global perceptions and city ranking. Marketing Manchester also supports MIDAS, Greater Manchester's inward investment agency, in the delivery of promotion focusing on priority sectors and campaigns including digital, innovation and green.


Key Responsibilities:


  • To support the Marketing Manager with the development and delivery of marketing campaign activity.
  • To provide support across the Marketing team in the delivery of familiarisation visits including planning, liaising with partners, attending where appropriate, follow up evaluation and monitoring of inkind support.
  • Ensuring all digital and published marketing material is up to date.
  • Respond to enquiries received from partners and stakeholders, providing the correct information in a timely polite manner.
  • Collation of key statistics (web stats, partner engagement, campaign reach etc) that input into Key Performance Indicator reports.
  • Input data into office systems that support the Marketing team functions e.g. CRM, financial management system.
  • Liaison with partners and appropriate Marketing Manchester departments, to facilitate sharing of information to support delivery objectives.
  • Preevent preparation, supporting the delivery of events including post event breakdown.

About you:


  • An enthusiastic individual with a passion to develop a career in marketing, must be highly motivated and results orientated.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills. excellent planning and organisational skills.

Skills Required:


  • Hold a professional qualification in Marketing/Communications /Events Management or Tourism.
  • Experience of working in an office or customer facing environment would be an advantage.
