An opportunity to join our Law Practice as an Apprentice
An excellent opportunity to start a career, complete an apprenticeship and progress within a busy Solicitors. General duties include making and receiving telephone calls, preparing precise attendance notes, and filing, etc.

Administrator who will be working across a variety of areas of law, conveyancing, wills and probate, and litigation.

Opening, closing and archiving files. Administering compliance checks on live files. Scanning and dealing with the post and the franking machine and post records.

Will learn case management systems, and will be taught accounts and billing. Typing invoices and quotes.


Telephoning out on behalf of the business and receiving enquiries and where able dealing with enquiries with agents and customers of the business.


Future Prospects
We have kept most of our apprentices on for a least 1-2 years after their apprenticeships.


Rachael has been here 5 years is studying for her conveyancing qualification via another apprenticeship route, once qualified (next year) she will earn about £35,000.


As part of her on-going development she has undertaken;

  • Business administration apprenticeship
  • Conveyancing paralegal course
  • Trainee conveyancer course, she is CQS accredited and undergoes CPD training each year.
  • Level 4 CLC
  • Next year Level 6 CLC to qualification
  • A previous apprentice took to accounting, she undertook quick books and our manual spreadsheets, I recommended her to my accountant who took her on for AAT training

The Law Practice
Established in 2008 and has quickly become a reputable and widely recommended practice.

The practice quickly expanded into larger commercial premises on the East side of Norwich.

The team are highly skilled City trained lawyers with years of business and corporate experience behind them.

2 Office spaces and a back office with another two offices used occasionally.

Busy but relaxed and friendly, open plan. Apprentice will be sat with other fee earners in the downstairs shop office.


Your role within the Practice
The role will include but is not limited to:

  • Communicating and updating clients on a day to day basis with their matters
  • Updating the firm's court diary and adhoc diary management
  • Meet and greet clients who attend our offices
  • Accurate time recording entry onto our CMS
  • Effective and efficient building of a digital file via the CMS
  • Update and maintain archiving records as well as other general administrative duties

Desired skills

  • 49 grades English and maths GCSE's
  • Confident with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage reception in conjunction with other administration duties
  • Good attention to detail
  • Good working knowledge of ICT packages including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to demonstrate or gain a clear understanding of the firm's inhouse systems where training will be given
  • Excellent presentation, organisation and timekeeping skills
  • Awareness of confidentiality and safeguarding
  • The ability to use own initiative, be able to work individually as well as part of a team
  • Must be wellpresented with a clear, pleasant telephone manner
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good client care skills

You will complete the Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard.

  • This Apprenticeship will involve off the job training.
  • You will also develop your knowledge, skills and behaviours.
  • You need to have an employer to support your Apprenticeship and be employed in a relevant job role.
  • The typical length of this Apprenticeship course is 18 months.
  • This course has multiple start dates throughout the year
