If so, then look no further than our
Primary SEN Teaching Assistant position Your role will be providing support to a variety of children in KS1/KS2 on a 1:1 and 1:2 basis who are diagnosed with Autism and additional learning needs.


To thrive as a SEN Teaching Assistant, it's desirable for you to have:

  • A genuine passion for supporting primary aged children.
  • Experience working with children with Autism.
  • Experience working with children with additional learning needs.
  • Have a natural enthusiasm for working with young children
  • The ability to monitor and record a child's progress
  • An understanding of safeguarding children
  • A positive, caring, energetic, cando attitude

Duties include (but aren't limited to):

  • 1:1 support with a child or small groups
  • Supporting the class as a whole
  • Assisting the class teacher
  • Fostering relationships with parents
  • Caring and looking after children during break times and lunch times
  • Supervising children during activities
  • Managing challenging behaviour
  • Motivating children and being an excellent role model


Degree holders or applicants holding an NVQ/Level 3 qualification in Childcare are welcome as are Teaching Assistants with experience in school settings.


Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent, Temporary contract, Fixed term contract, Temp to perm, Graduate

Contract length: 4 months


Salary:
£78.00-£88.00 per day


Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • No weekends

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Thornton Heath: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:


  • Special education: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Enhanced DBS (preferred)

Work authorisation:

  • United Kingdom (preferred)
