About the role


We are looking for a Skilled Void Operative to work within our Property Services team to carry out the repair and maintenance of our void (empty homes) and occupied domestic properties.


This role involves carrying out a variety of different types of repairs such as minor carpentry (hanging doors and fitting skirting boards), general building works (small scale plastering and blockwork) and plumbing work (changing taps), along with general labour.

It will also include cleaning and clearance works, along with grass and hedge cutting.


To be successful you will need a broad range of general building skills (compared to other trades greater depth of specialist trade skills), along with experience of carrying out repairs and maintenance in occupied properties and completing work to a high standard of craftsmanship.

A high level of manual dexterity and the ability to work in confined spaces plus high or low levels is essential.


You will have a customer focused attitude, excellent communication skills and the ability to form good relationships with customers and colleagues.

A basic level of IT skills is important as the use of a tablet is routine and a driving licence is essential.

You may be asked to participate in our stand by rota, for which extra payment is made.
