Controls and Automation Lead required to join an automotive manufacturing team based in Solihull on an ongoing contract basis paying £ £50.00 per hour.

The successful
Controls and Automation Lead will be responsible for leading the delivery of controls and automation projects within an automotive manufacturing environment.

Managing automation teams, the Controls and Automation Lead will deliver project milestone in line with timing plans working closely with wider teams to ensure consistent standards across the project.


In return the
Controls and Automation Lead will benefit from an hourly rate of £ £50.00 per hour, working 40 hours per week with the potential of overtime.


Responsibilities of the
Controls and Automation Lead:

  • Manage automation teams to deliver project milestones
  • Delivery of body construction facilities in line with programme timing plan
  • Work closely with body construction standards & controls (S&C) team to coordinate a coherent standard across the project
  • Manage technical issues and escalate where appropriate
  • Attend programme meetings and escalate where applicable
  • Manage auto status meetings and reporting
  • Ensure adherence of PLC software to the company DCP standard
  • Ensure adherence of Robot programming to company standards Skills

The ideal
Controls and Automation Lead will have:

  • Knowledge of Rockwell PLC's and Logix 500 software
  • Knowledge of Robot Programming aligned to automotive manufacturing standards
  • Knowledge of DCP software Automotive body construction experience
  • Knowledge of Industrial Ethernet and IP addressing
  • Knowledge of Industrial interface design and operation
  • Good communication skills at all levels

    _Inside IR35__. The rates advertised are paid via an Umbrella Payroll Provider and are inclusive of Assignment rate, Holiday Pay and Apex Recruitments contribution to Employer Social Costs._
