Waterways Civil Labourer

Perm Placements Ltd are working on behalf of our client,who are a long established and respected brand name throughout the water and wastewater industries, with vast experience in surveying, managing and maintaining the industry's assets. As a successful, growing company they are now looking for talented employees who want to work in an environment that is both challenging and rewarding to come and work in.

After winning a 10-year contract to support the
Canal and River Trust Perm Placements have the pleasure in assisting our client to recruit an enthusiastic, innovative, and dynamic multi-disciplined
Waterways / Plant Operative the role will include, but is not limited to:
Working outside, carrying out maintenance and repair works to the waterway infrastructure

Maintenance of the waterside e.g. towpath improvement

Protecting the natural and historic environment when carrying out works

Working well as part of a team and having excellent customer service skills

Working in a safe manner ensuring the safety of the public


About you:


You are a highly motivated labourer able to complete tasks to the highest quality and customer satisfaction, able to work alone or as part of a team.


You must have the following experience:


We are looking for someone who can work well as part of a team and has the drive and enthusiasm to learn new skills within the canal and waterways industry.

provide excellent customer service to canal and river users and also demonstrate excellent knowledge of health and safety.

Complete tasks demonstrating great care in the quality of your work.

Have experience of manual/construction/outdoor work.

Have plant experience.

Have a valid UK driving licence.

Have a flexible work approach as this job may involve staying away.


PPE and uniform all supplied.

Pension, Cycle to Work Scheme, Childcare Vouchers.

Salary is dependent on experience up from £28,000 to £37,000 plus over time.

  • Monday to Friday
  • Night shift

  • Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Worcester: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • CSCS (preferred)
  • Driving Licence (preferred)
